Hadassah Mitzvah Chapter welcomes an accomplished genetic counselor and a breast cancer survivor to share their expertise and personal experiences for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Rotem Adar Schwartz is a Senior Assistant Attorney General for the Child Enforcement Section in Broward County. She is actively involved in the community for breast cancer awareness including as a mentor for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, attends activities supporting the Pink Angels Memorial Foundation (which supports patients & families at Memorial Breast Cancer Center) and is the team captain for Team Boobie Groupies for the Broward County Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk each year. Mrs. Schwartz, born and raised in the North Miami Beach/Aventura area, is a 10-year breast cancer survivor (diagnosed in 2011) and is married to Jason Schwartz. They reside in Hollywood with their 2 cats.

Tammy Adar obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware in Biology with a concentration in Biotechnology, then went on to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for her Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling. She then moved to South Florida to practice genetic counseling where she has been doing so for 15 years. Tammy has been working with Memorial Cancer Institute for the past 3 years as the manager of the genetic counselor program providing cancer genetic counseling to individuals with a concerning personal or family history of cancer. She lives in Northeast Dade with her husband Alon and their children Ari & Tali.
